My connection to public education has been shaped through extensive leadership and advocacy across school and community settings. I served as President of my children’s school P&C for nine years and as School Board Chair for six years, working in close partnership with school leadership to strengthen outcomes for students and families. These roles provided a strong foundation in governance, community engagement and the critical role parents play in education.

I have also previously served as a WACSSO State Councillor, including several years as a Vice President, representing the voice of P&Cs and contributing to broader conversations on education policy, equity and system improvement. This experience deepened my understanding of the challenges and opportunities within public education and reinforced my commitment to ensuring all students have access to high-quality, inclusive learning environments.

Beyond the school community, I serve as a local government Councillor, where I advocate for initiatives that support young people, families and community wellbeing. I bring a collaborative, outcomes-focused approach, with a strong belief in the power of connected communities to drive meaningful change.

Although my children are now at Murdoch University, my passion for public education remains as strong as ever. I continue to champion the vital role of P&Cs and the extraordinary work of volunteers, and I am committed to representing and empowering parent voices to shape a stronger, more equitable education system for all.
