Our staff provide expert advice and administer the services to affiliates.

The WACSSO staff team is available each weekday during business hours to provide expert advice and administer the services offered to affiliates. Our dedicated and professional team is more than willing to assist you and your association in meeting the aims and objectives of the P&C Constitution.

Michelle Slater

Executive Officer

As the Executive Officer, I am responsible for day-to-day management and leadership of WACSSO Operations staff.

I work with the team, President and WACSSO State Council in an executive capacity to ensure the achievement of our constitutional, strategic and business objectives.

I am also accountable for maintaining our culture of innovation, continuous improvement and high-quality service delivery to Affiliates and other key stakeholders.

Finance & Training (Regional)

As the Finance Officer, I am responsible for managing the finance requirements of the organisation, including liaison with external contractors, as directed by State Council.

I also provide financial reports and advice as required by State Council and President.

I am also responsible for identifying, evaluating and developing budgets, funding arrangements and grant applications for the organisation as directed by State Council and the President.

In my Training role, I am responsible for developing and delivering a range of training and resources to affiliates located in the regions. This includes webinars, which you can access on the website, or participate in, as they go live, on the Online Learning Community.

I also provide support and guidance to vacant electorates, with a focus on recruiting new State Councillors.

I also assist affiliates and State Councillors with enquiries and arising issues.

Deb Ryan

Accounts and Governance Specialist

As the Accounts and Governance Specialist, I assist the President, Executive and Councillors of the organisation as well as providing assistance to our affiliated P&C Associations.

I support the organisation and our affiliates to ensure compliance with the Associations Incorporation Act and other external agencies such as Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) and the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission (ACNC).

I am responsible for managing the Agendas and Minutes for State Council Meetings as well as conducting the elections for the Council. I am also responsible for the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable of the organisation.

I look forward to being able to assist affiliates with any enquiries they may have. 

Elaine Korona

Partnership, Fundraising and Events Manager

As Partnerships, Fundraising and Events Manager, I work across a range of initiatives that strengthen WACSSO and support the public school communities we represent.

My role includes developing strategic partnerships, fundraising initiatives and sponsorship opportunities that create value for our members. I also lead the planning and delivery of the annual WACSSO Conference, bringing together P&C representatives from across Western Australia to learn, connect and help shape the future of public education.

Throughout the year, I coordinate a range of events and projects that support WACSSO’s strategic priorities and strengthen engagement with our members and stakeholders.

Administration Assistant

As Administration Assistant and Office Coordinator, I help keep the WACSSO office running smoothly and provide day-to-day administrative support across the organisation.

I assist with a wide range of operational tasks, including coordinating office administration, supporting staff and State Councillors, managing enquiries, and helping ensure our members receive timely and friendly service.

Whether you’re getting in touch with a question, attending a WACSSO event, or looking for the right person to speak to, I’m here to help connect you with the support you need.

Tracy Skipworth

Training Officer (Metropolitan)

As one of the Training Officers, my responsibility is to present online and face-to-face training to our affiliates in the metro area. The best part about training is sharing knowledge to enable members to fulfill their responsibilities with confidence. I have held positions on a P&C and have been employed by a P&C putting me in a great position to share my knowledge. I love to be able to assist affiliates in their incredibly valuable roles.

Member Services Officers

Our Member Services Officers are here to support WACSSO members and ensure P&Cs feel informed, confident and connected.

The team responds to member enquiries across phone, email and social media, working closely with the wider WACSSO team to provide timely, consistent and easy-to-understand advice. Whether you have a question about your P&C, need help finding a resource or aren’t sure where to start, our Member Services Officers are here to help.

With experience across customer service, communications and P&C communities, the team understands the important role volunteers play in supporting their schools. They’re passionate about making sure P&Cs have access to the information, resources and support they need to make a positive difference in their school communities.
