Our staff provide expert advice and administer the services to affiliates.

The WACSSO staff team is available each weekday during business hours provide expert advice and administer the services offered to affiliates. Our dedicated and professional team is more than willing to assist you and your association in meeting the aims and objectives of the P&C Constitution.

Michelle Slater

Executive Officer

As the Executive Officer, I am responsible for day-to-day management and leadership of WACSSO Operations staff.

I work with the team, President and WACSSO State Council in an executive capacity to ensure the achievement of our constitutional, strategic and business objectives.

I am also accountable for maintaining our culture of innovation, continuous improvement and high-quality service delivery to Affiliates and other key stakeholders.

Debbie Booth

Finance & Training (Regional)

As the Finance Officer, I am responsible for managing the finance requirements of the organisation, including liaison with external contractors, as directed by State Council.

I also provide financial reports and advice as required by State Council and President.

I am also responsible for identifying, evaluating and developing budgets, funding arrangements and grant applications for the organisation as directed by State Council and the President.

In my Training role, I am responsible for developing and delivering a range of training and resources to affiliates located in the regions. This includes webinars, which you can access on the website, or participate in, as they go live, on the Online Learning Community.

I also provide support and guidance to vacant electorates, with a focus on recruiting new State Councillors.

I also assist affiliates and State Councillors with enquiries and arising issues.

Deb Ryan

Accounts and Governance Specialist

As the Accounts and Governance Specialist, I assist the President, Executive and Councillors of the organisation as well as providing assistance to our affiliated P&C Associations.

I support the organisation and our affiliates to ensure compliance with the Associations Incorporation Act and other external agencies such as Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) and the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission (ACNC).

I am responsible for managing the Agendas and Minutes for State Council Meetings as well as conducting the elections for the Council. I am also responsible for the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable of the organisation.

I look forward to being able to assist affiliates with any enquiries they may have. 

Elaine Korona

Events Coordinator

As Events Coordinator, my primary responsibility is the annual WACSSO Conference. I maintain relationships with key WACSSO supporters and ensure that the event runs smoothly from start to finish. WACSSO Conference brings together affiliates from across Western Australia to participate in networking and development opportunities as well as be an active voice at the AGM and agenda session, which provides the opportunity to influence public education policy.

Throughout the year, I also organise the State Council meetings, which provide the opportunity for staff and Councillors to come together and share ideas, shape the strategy and reflect on WACSSO operations.

wayne lubbe

Senior Communications and Advocacy Specialist

As the Communications and Advocacy Specialist, my role is to ensure clear and detailed understanding of on-the-ground experiences of our P&Cs are collated and prepared for government advocacy, to ensure every student in WA has the best education and school experience possible.

I am responsible for the content and channel management, including WACSSO eNews, P&C Voice and social media, through which we engage our 650 incredible P&Cs across WA.

Tracy Skipworth

Training Officer (Metropolitan)

As one of the Training Officers, my responsibility is to present online and face-to-face training to our affiliates in the metro area. The best part about training is sharing knowledge to enable members to fulfill their responsibilities with confidence. I have held positions on a P&C and have been employed by a P&C putting me in a great position to share my knowledge. I love to be able to assist affiliates in their incredibly valuable roles.

Jody Quinn

Affiliate Services

In my role as the Affiliate Services Officer, I work to promote WACSSO and the services we provide to our affiliate organisations. Being a part of WACSSO since 1988, and currently working 2 days a week, I assist with affiliate enquiries, and support Annual Conference, President, and State Council.

I report and attend meetings of State Council where necessary and attend Annual Conference.

At the 2022 Conference, was awarded WACSSO Life Membership by WACSSO State Council.

Member Services Officer

As the Member Services Officer at WACSSO, my role is focused on supporting all of our members and ensuring they feel informed, confident, and connected.

I respond to members queries across multiple channels — including phone, email, and social media and work closely with our team to ensure the advice we offer is timely, consistent, and easy to understand. With a background in customer service and digital customer journeys, my aim is to strengthen communication and engagement with our P&C members via any method they prefer.

Having served on a P&C for many years, I truly value the commitment and dedication of volunteers! I have seen and understand the positive impact a well-supported P&C can have on their school community and their children.
